.h.e.l.l.w.e.e.k.

i despise the fact that i skipped/am in the process of skipping two important classes in order to finish a paper for an elective class. rarr face.

please forgive me, hank. i love spending three hours coloring pretty images with markers. however, my sociology class is a harsh mistress. i will forever be kicking myself for dropping the easy 8am soc class for the later one that has turned out to be SO much more unnecessary work. freakin' a.

i got to see barack obama speak on campus yesterday. despite my inconvenient location behind the speakers (resulting in everyone being echo-y and hard to hear), the atmosphere was positively electric. the thing that amazed me the most was the amount and diversity of people. granted, it was on a college campus, but there were an equal amount of older people present. i'm going to let you in on a secret:

(cincinnati can be kind of segregated, still. which is really lame. but the truth)

but seated around me were a genuine mix of young and old, rich and poor, black, white, asian (there are very few hispanics in cincinnati) working, middle and upper class. all excited. all talking with eachother about this guy and what he could do for america.

i find it interesting that hillary's campaign is arguing AGAINST change. against hope. against promise. leaders are supposed to inspire and instill hope, especially in this country disillusioned by incompetant government and a failing economy.

call me naiive if you want, but america

needs

something to believe in.

isn't that something Christianity is about? hope? a new future?

jeremiah 29:11 says that God has plans to bring us hope and a future. why can't that future include barack obama?

comment if you like, but please no bitter political arguing. call each other up or email your debate "opponents", but antagonism is not my goal here.

JennyK,

I completely agree with you on Obama -- while I disagree with him on issues, I think it's absolutely awesome that he's mobilizing so many different kinds of people, and especially the young voters. What we need is change, but he seems to realize that it's not him who will be doing it -- it's US. We need HIM to inspire US to get involved.

I'm excited about the prospect.

And also, I love you. And also hate school.

i'm so jealous you got to see him speak live. every time he's on c-span, i stop what i'm doing just to watch it. he's an incredible pubic speaker.

There are tons of latin Americans in Cincinnati. You just have to know where to look.
